Dave Dale

Before founding the Efficient Data Group, Dave Dale PhD, managed an award winning data science team at News UK. Previously he ran a data science team at Winton Capital, then Europe’s largest Hedge Fund. Prior to that he was a consultant at QuantumBlack (now a McKinsey company), and an engineer and applied researcher at Microsoft. In the increasingly distant past, he was a postdoctoral researcher and college lecturer at Oxford University.

 

Ed Rushton

Ed is a data scientist and entrepreneur. After a successful career as an economist, advising a wide range of telecoms companies, Ed created findaschool - an online service which helped parents understand their local schools. The company was acquired by 192.com in 2014, and subsequently sold to Zoopla.

Most recently, Ed worked on a range of data science projects for The Times, developing novel techniques to help editors and journalists better understand the performance of their content.
